Value dynamics

Values determine how we behave. They are a very individual matter and provide us with guidance. However, in order to develop, to become free and to reorient ourselves, it is often necessary to let go of all previous, inherited, often burdensome or even cherished values and ask ourselves: ‘What do I really want?’ At the same time, we constantly need something like value awareness and value training in order to create a balance between attitude, action and experience. Attitude values, experience values and creative values can be derived from these three groups.

We understand value dynamics to be a didactic method that can be used to help people become aware of their own values and, in particular, the interactions between values of attitude, values of experience and values of action. We design and test value dynamics as a (guided) path to a balance of values and a strengthened awareness of values in order to achieve a heightened sense of meaning and awareness of meaning. The method involves imparting knowledge about values and value categories in the sense of LTEA as empowerment and psychoeducation, as well as a collection of exercises and reflection tasks for awareness and reinforcement. Value dynamics is a practical method for putting central approaches of LTEA to good use and supporting people in developing a beneficial and strengthening value system.
